Bill's Automotive was opened 57 years ago by Bill Schrader Sr., one of the top stock car racing drivers in the Midwest from the late 1940s through the early 1970s. His youngest son, Ken Schrader, worked at the shop as a teenager before his racing career took him to USAC championships and the top rungs of NASCAR stock car competition.
Bill Schrader Jr., now retired, was next to operate the general automotive service. His son and grandson, Ed and Jeremy, are the third- and fourth-generations of the family to keep West County motoring.
Today the experienced staff at Bill's Automotive provides full service and repair of domestic and Asian vehicles, including air conditioning and tire service. Ed brings 36 years of experience to the shop. Jeremy has 12 years of experience and the third staff member, Kevin Betzer, has been repairing cars and trucks for 34 years.
